Safety and Liability Disclosure

Welcome to Go West Charter. Your safety and comfort are our highest priorities. To ensure a positive experience, we ask all guests and visitors to review the following safety guidelines and liability disclosures before accessing or using our property, dock, or any amenities.
General Safety Guidelines
  1. Use at Your Own Risk:
    All guests and visitors enter and use the premises, including the dock, waterfront, and any boats or watercraft, at their own risk.
  2. Children and Supervision:
    Children must be supervised at all times, especially near the water. Life jackets are strongly recommended for children under 12.
  3. Swimming and Boating:
    Swimming is not monitored or lifeguarded. SlipAway on the Bay is not liable for accidents, injuries, or death resulting from swimming, diving, or watercraft activities.
  4. Weather Awareness:
    Weather conditions on the bay can change rapidly. Guests are responsible for monitoring forecasts and using good judgment.
  5. Alcohol and Substances:
    The use of alcohol or other substances does not relieve guests of responsibility for their actions or decisions.
  6. Dock and Slip Safety:
    Use caution on wet or uneven surfaces. No running or horseplay on the dock. Dock edges may be slippery.
  7. Waterborne Risks and Marine LifeGuests acknowledge the natural risks associated with open water environments, including potential exposure to contaminants or bacteria, and interactions with marine life such as jellyfish, stingrays, or other fish. SlipAway on the Bay is not responsible for any illness, injury, or allergic reaction resulting from swimming, wading, or contact with wildlife or waterborne elements. Guests are encouraged to exercise caution and seek medical attention if stung or exposed.

  8. Media Release: By entering the premises of Go West Charters, you acknowledge that photography and videography may take place for promotional purposes, including use on websites, social media, and other marketing materials. Unless you notify us in writing prior to or during your stay, you grant Go West Charters and its representatives the right to capture and use images or recordings of you and your guests, without compensation, for lawful promotional use. We respect your desire for privacy if you have concerns or questions please discuss when booking the trip and follow up in writing.

By visiting or using the property at Go West Charters you acknowledge and agree to the following:
  • You accept full responsibility for any and all risks associated with your stay or visit.
  • You waive and release Captain Jerry West its owner, along with his agents, and affiliates from any liability, claims, demands, or causes of action for any personal injury, illness, property damage, loss, or death arising out of or relating to your access and use of the premises and amenities and contaminates from Matagorda Bay and the elements of Nature
  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners and operators of Go West Charters from any claims, liabilities, or damages resulting from your conduct or the conduct of those in your party.


Medical and Emergency Services
Go West Charters is not equipped to provide emergency medical care. In the case of an emergency we will utilize call 911 immediately. The nearest Hospital is approximately 25 miles North in Bay City, Texas matagordaregional.org.


Acknowledgment
Use of the Go West Charters website and/or facilities signifies your understanding and agreement with the above safety and liability terms. We encourage all guests to ask questions and communicate any safety concerns prior to and during their stay.
